The start of a new journey
Marico River Honey Bee Co was founded by Gerhard and Priscilla Pieters on 12 September 2023. After spending 23 years in the Hospitality and Safari Guide industry, we felt it was time to start a new life journey.

It is our love for nature and in particular, honeybees and beekeeping, that has led us on this exciting and satisfying journey and we wanted to create a company that gives value, not just in our products, but also in creating an awareness about our natural world and how we as humans interact with the environment around us.
Marico River Honey Bee Co is more than just a beekeeping company, we are stewards of nature, dedicated to the preservation of the African Honey Bee as an essential pollinator.
With a commitment to sustainable beekeeping practices, and through our “Hive to Home” approach, we aim to produce premium, handcrafted products, while actively contributing to environmental well – being.
